José María has more than 19 years of experience in asset management. He started his career at Lloyds TSB. He then worked as a financial analyst at the holding company Inversor Internacional (Sodigei) until 2006, when he joined Banif Gestión in Madrid. There he managed a variety of managed vehicles (Collective Investment Schemes, EPSVs and customised portfolios) for Banco Banif's private banking network, which later became part of Santander Private Banking Gestión, and was responsible for Santander Group's emerging funds portfolio.
His performance in managing a 5-year Euro Global Aggressive Mixed fund with a 4-star rating from Morningstar was exceptional. In 2020, he won the Gold Top Allocator Global, Europe, Iberia & Spain award for asset allocation in Sharing Alpha.
José holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Valencia (specialising in European Economics). He holds a Master's degree in Equity Markets and Finance from the Fundación de Estudios Bursátiles de la Bolsa de Valencia. He is a European Financial Analyst of the IEAF - EFFAS.
